The beautiful island of Sardinia is located in the mediterranean sea. Sardinia is the second largest island in Italy and offers a unique blend of hystory, culture and natural beauty. 

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language is Italian, as it is in the rest of Italy. However, Sardinia also has its own distinct language called Sardinian (Sardo). Sardinian is a Romance language that has been spoken on the island for centuries and has several dialects. The Sardinian language has its roots in Latin and is considered one of the oldest living Romance languages in Europe. It has its own unique vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

WHERE SHOULD I STAY IN SARDINIA FOR THE FIST TIME ?

For a first-time visit to Sardinia, consider staying in Cagliari, the island's capital. It's a vibrant city with a mix of history, culture, and beautiful beaches nearby. You can explore the historic Castello district, visit the Roman amphitheater, and enjoy the local cuisine. Plus, it's a great base for day trips to other parts of the island.

TRANSPORTATION: Renting a car is highly recommended as it gives you the freedom to explore the island's diverse landscapes and hidden gems at your own pace. Public transportation is available but can be limited, especially in rural areas.
 

CULTURAL ETIQUETTE: Sardinians are known for their hospitality. It's customary to greet people with a friendly "Buongiorno" (Good morning) or "Buonasera" (Good evening). When dining, it's polite to wait for the host to start the meal.
 

LOCAL FESTIVALS: Sardinia hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, celebrating everything from religious events to traditional music and food. Check the local calendar to see if any festivals coincide with your visit.
 

CURRENCY: The currency used is the Euro. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always good to have some cash on hand for smaller establishments.
 

CLIMATE: Sardinia enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. If you're visiting in the summer, pack sunscreen and light clothing. Spring and fall are also great times to visit with pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
